Globular shrub, up to 6 meters tall, endemic to the Mediterranean scrubland. It blooms in yellow during spring and grows in full sun, being quite resistant to drought. It is suggested as one of the species for ecological restoration after fires due to its easy establishment, even through direct sowing. This species is important in the early stages of secondary succession in coastal areas.
