Endemic palm tree of Chile, the only living species of the monotypic genus Jubaea. It grows in microclimates, in protected low areas. It is the southernmost palm tree in the world and needs to grow in communities to ensure propagation. It requires protection from scrubland for successful germination.
It grows in slope areas alongside Quillay, Boldo, Peumo, and Litre.
